I think RKA is asking becasue coilovers are generally much stiffer than NueSteins.

Default I understand english, and I understand what he's saying...

what I don't understand is the correlation between his observations and your decision to buy coilovers. If that's what you want to do, that's fine. But some other n00b is going to read this and say "if kmbackid is getting coilovers, that must be the way to go". Simply speaking, it seems like the blind leading the blind. So I thought I would ask what your reasoning is.

Default If im going to spend almost the same money...

for a spring and strut set as for the coilovers, I would like the options that coilovers give me. Do you think that the koni coilovers will be as stiff as that neu/bil strut & spring combo?

Default I think they will be in the same ballpark.

Neither is a particularly stiff suspension set up. In socaliA4's case, I think he really wanted a stock-like ride, which you'll be hard pressed to find in an aftermarket set up (hence my recommendation to go back to OEM). In your case, you might be willing to trade off a little ride comfort for the extra performance gains. Neither setup that you mention is going to be bone jarring by any stretch of the imagination. So choosing the Koni's because of some added flexibility is fine, but choosing Koni's because he finds the Neuspeeds too rough really doesn't make any sense. Odds are his expectations were very different from yours, and that's why he made that comment. You shouldn't let that necessarily sway your decision of Neuspeed vs. Koni.

Well said. And I would venture to guess the c/o will be slightly stiffer than NeuSteins.

Default Depends...I'm trying not to say that. Here's why...

because it depends on what springs are used with the Neuspeed shocks, and because the rebound is adjustable on the Koni's. The Koni's have a relatively low spring rate, and you can dial back the rebound dampening so it's a pretty cushy ride. You can also tighten it up a bit so it might feel a bit harsh to some. On a macro scale, I think they are in the same ballpark, when you compare them to other set ups out there like H&R c/o's, stasis, KW, etc (which are all more firm).
