Default Neuspeed Chip

Latest thoughts on the Neuspeed chip for 1.8TQ? After searching the archives, seems like the best value/compromise (price, boost, hp).

Go with a better chip. REMEMBER, you get what you pay for!

While it may not be the "better" chip, I have been entirely happy with the performance of my Neuspeed chip. I've got about 4000 miles on it so far. The chip produces a noticeable increase in performance when called upon and my mileage in both city and highway driving has increased (when I'm not playing with the new horsepower all the time) by 1-2 mpg.
It is the cheapest chip, and "only" produces about 30 hp, but personally I was worried about durability. And since this chip (and there are others who make a 0.8 bar chip) in effect duplicates the performance of the European models I am not concerned with the long-term effects.
MikeS 98 1.8T qms

Default Neuspeed is the best value

I'm very pleased with mine, 9K and no issues. I have the K04 kit and will install this weekend, have already read two posts on this upgrade and no problems reported. The K04 upgrade is also a great value.

The K04 is a step up from the stock K03 turbo that we have in 1.8Ts. The turbine is redesigned for higher efficiency which means MORE POWER! I'm not sure on what else is in the kit, since I don't have one myself. Check www.autobahnint.com for more details on it (I think you can find it there), if not, try www.greedspeed.com.
-Ash Silver 98.5 1.8TQMS (Still can't decide which chip...)

Love mine, I have had it for 6000 miles so far and no problems other than excessive speeding. My G Tech Pro measured my 0-60 times in my 1.8t fwd A4 at 7.9 seconds, and the Neu chip brought that down to 7.0 seconds. Great deal.
Christian J. Long

Default Does Neuspeed chip support K04 ??

How does this work - do you need a chip upgrade when you install a K04? If so, do the chip upgrades know that a K04 has been installed and operate appropriately - or do all the chips just sense more efficient turbo operation & automatically do the right thing ...

Default Neuspeed K04 upgrade comes with a new 1 bar chip

This 1 bar chip is designed for the K04. The K04 upgrade takes about 3-4 hours to install and for an idea of what is involved in the installation see donp's site (k04 install) and refer to his modifications category. He did an excellent job of illustrating and explaining the turbo install.
K04 install

K04 install
