I have ordered and received the Neuspeed 19mm sway bar, as has been raved about on this list. My car is 2001.5 A4 1.8T Quattro, tip, no sport package. Looking over instructions, it says "remove current sway link"... Now, it's too cold/snowy/crappy/wet etc right now to look under this car, but I was under the impression that only the sport suspension has a stock rear sway bar, regular suspension does not? Yes/No?
Q1: Am I going to be removing a stock sway bar?
(no problem if I have to, I want to be prepared..)
Q2: What is the preferred setting (low, med, high) for everyone installing these on a standard suspension vehicle?
Q3: any hints, tips, etc I need to be aware of when getting this installed? I was going to back it up on some ramps to install this. Correct?
Thanks,
Vic

A1: You need to remove the OEM bar; even the non-sport has one.
A2: I would start out on the softest setting (end of the bar), then change it if you like.
A3: I did mine on ramps with no problem.

No, regular, non-sport has a smaller bar... but it does have a bar.
Q1. Yes, you need to remove the stock one.
Q2. Only 2 settings.... I have mine on the softer one with H&R coilovers, and that's plenty...
Q3. it would probably be easier if you put the car on jackstands (at the rear jackpoints in front of the rear wheel wells... and removed the tires...

When removing the nuts on the end links, use an open end wrench and a 5mm Allen key. The Allen key fits in the end of the bolt that goes through the end of the bar. Otherwise, the end link bolt will just spin.
