Very nice job, but FWIW my dealer (Clair) strongly recommended against installing a hitch on my Avant, saying car not designed for it and could compromise handling, safety, etc. (nt).

...towing a 386 lb sailboat. btw, that's the same hitch we have on our A4 sedan. Just follow Audi's guidelines. I'm sure they're reasonable given the liabilty they'd face if they weren't.<p>Happy towing.<br>knh

Ahhh, you are failing to mention the front and rear frames that are only connected via the sheetmetal on the floor. That car that the torsional rigidity of an Al Dente noodle. 2 nice things about that car, Engine/Brakes.
