Default New A4 - Which engine, 2.0 or 1.8T ?

I'm thinking about getting a new A4 when it arrives in the UK this March, but which engine to choose ?

Probably not the 3.0, as it would be a bit thirsty, but which out of the 2.0 or 1.8T. The pros and cons as I see it are :-

1.8T :
Proven engine in existing T Sport.
Very torqey.
Not particularly smooth.
Tends to clatter on startup.

2.0 :
All new engine - unproven.
Has balancer shafts - should be smooth and free-revving.
Economical.
Not as torquey as 1.8T.

Maybe the only way to decide is to wait until both cars are available to test-drive. But interested to hear what people think.

Default

The 2.0 is naturally aspirated, so no chipping options.
