Default I dont have any numbers as to exactly how much shorter it is.....

But I can tell you it feels GREAT!! Shorter and tighter than my old UUC shifter.

Default did it feel shorter in height, or just in throw?

glad i waited before purchasing neuspeed (i heard more complaints about inconsistancy of quality in the ucc), now i have another choice, and it sounds good ....we'll see, i'm patient.

Default Can't you just throw some bearings in the UUC or Neuspeed??

Not trying to be a devil's advocate... but bearings are cheap upgrades. I'm getting some tomorrow for mine actually.

Default Hey, if all works out...can you let me know what you end up using....

I can't justify spending money to get another short shifter if the only difference is that it is smoother. Besides, I'm in love with the shorter height of the Neuspeed shifter and I won't go back to stock.

Just some FYI, they sell really small ball bearings at hobby shops, but I don't know if they are durable enough for something like a shifter.

Good luck!

Default what kind of bearing do you have in mind? unless the shifter was ....

designed to use bearings, in which case it would come with them, i don't believe you will be able to "add" bearings. unless you're a machinist/engineer, i'm really curious what you think you can add to someone elses complete design

I was thinking that too...you'd have to enlarge the hole to fit a bearing in it and be the same size
