New Borla exhaust problem...
#12
Probably a stupid thing but a friend years ago put a muffler in backwards...
and it did the exact same thing.
I have no idea if it's even possible on a Borla but maybe the resonator is backwards? Just a thought, probably not but?????

yes i also have a borla...when i get into the boost you can hear it pretty loud
At highway speeds it isnt as loud but is there. I would say it is probally half what it is when compared to WOT at about 3k. I can only compare it to the stock exhaust though.

Yea he is running full custom... like the only thing borla is his muffler... and thats where...
he thinks the sounds is comming from... i dont know where he is now tho... miltek is not as loud fyi... but "classier" as some1 has said before.. ahha, min hangs liek 1.5" from the rear bumper.. toms is like right up in the bumper practically... so i dunno

Well that's not stupid, but it is impossible for me to do it. But it's not impossible that the guy
who welded the exhaust up didn't do it backwards. The Borla is (3) pieces and it would not be possible to assemble anything backwards. Thanks though...

I would say that at speed, whether 30 or 75 mph, the tone is really quiet and deeper than stock.
Even accelerating hard is just fine. It's just when you drive normally, my car shifts gears at around 3,800 rpm. So it creeps to 3,200 rpm and is loud as hell inside the car until it shifts again at around 3,800 rpm. I can drive the car so that I don't get over 3,000 rpm and it is fairly quiet. Nice deep tone with no vibrations. If the vibration happend at like 4,500 rpm, I wouldn't even care. That way I would only experience the issue under hard acceleration. At that point it would be all good. The tone from 3,800 rpm to redline is even quiet compared to this "droning".

Putting it on backwards would be tough, it's one of the best fitting setups I've ever seen
Mine went on smooth and has no weird sounds whatsoever. Can you isolate where the buzzing is coming from? Did you try to re-seat all the pipes together and reclamp?

In aligning everthing to be perfect, yes I know everything from the cat back is good. The sound I
am describing is not coming from any one point. It's as if the whole car is vibrating causing the sound.

Yes, I installed a new gasket and hardware for the install. I believe my down pipe clears nicely,
but I need to look again tonight. I'm not sure what you mean by DTS. Drive train stablizer? The only thing that I was hitting after the initial install was a cross member toward the rear of the car. I will look tonight to better describe things and take some pics.
