new front brake pads - should my brake pedal almost reach the floor?
My dealer installed new front pads on my 1999 1.8TQM Avant.
The brake pedal feels spongy, and I can stomp it nearly to the floor.
Is this normal? I know the new pads need to "bed" in, but this seems a bit excessive.

My (amateur) diagnosis as well...
My guess is air was introduced into the system during service. Thanks for the confirmation.

Brake test.
Try this with engine off pump brake pedal several times. The pedal feel should get very firm. Then start the engine and the pedal will go down a little bit. If it goes to the floor or close bleed the brakes(all 4)Should do it every 2 yrs anyhow.
