I just bought a 2000 Audi A4 2.8L Quattro 5 speed manual and had a few questions for you veteran Audi A4 owners. What is the best type of spark plugs and oil/filter to put in? I could google it but I want to see what you guys think. Also, are there any ways to get better gas mileage other than strategic driven. And my last question, every time I get out of the car and get back in the gas gauge is a little lower than when I get out. Could that just be a relay that needs to be cleaned or a new sensor or is there possibly a bigger problem?

I have some years experience with:
Spark plugs: from NGK type BKR6EKUB about $6 per pce
Oil filter from Mahle and currently Mann(type W930/21)
The quattro gas reservoir has a complex shape with 3 different level sensors adding the signal up for the gauge. Mine stays for a rather long time at higher level and seams to drop to "real" level with switching ignition off and on again.
and yes: the driver has a major(-ly) impact on the mileage, as well indirectly via car maintenance, tire pressure, AC off, etc.

You can upgrade to Platinum or Iridium plugs, but they generally have a single electrode despite the fact the cathode lasts longer. Will they last 2 or 3 times as long, plus the cost difference??
However, welcome.
