Default New tires handle like crap... should I wait and see if they firm up?

I just had some new tires mounted and balanced and I noticed on the way home they feel horrible going around corners. I'm not sure what the feeling is yet, almost feels like the sidewalls are flexing a LOT. The new ones are Toyo Proxes TPT's in 205/60-15 size, I'm coming off of Yokohama Avid H4's which felt just fine but were bald. Should I hold off on judging these and see if maybe its just a new tire thing?

New tires need breaking in. They'll get grippier. Patience young Skywalker.

How many miles do new tires usually take to break in?
