Default new turbo sounds bad...any suggestions?

I had about 128k on my car when the stock wastegate broke so i had the turbo replaced. The new turbo now makes a buzzing sound, sort of like the dentist drill i have heard described on here. The old turbo had the stock high-pitched whistle. The car has plenty of power and runs fine, any suggestions?

Default turbo was rebuilt

I purchased a rebuilt turbo from a reputable turbo mechanic. It looked brand new when i received it. The compressor, turbine, shaft and bushings were all new and the housings were rebuilt. i primed the oil system when i finished installing it so i dont think that it could have been installation issues

Default The K04 I got from you does the same thing...

when it goes from vac to boost. I didn't know it was something to be concerned about -- just thought it was a K04 thing

Sounds like a dentist drill for sure, kind of cool, actually.

Default Mine has been doing that for around 25k miles

I don't know what it is. I had a mechanic tell me that the blades could be unbalanced or the one of the wheels could be loose and touching the housing

Default Hmm...that doesnt sound right. It never sounded like a "drill" for me...

and it wassnt used for very long. I know you have been having issue after issue, but are you 100% sure everything is installed correctly?

Default Finally, yes. Everything's been triple-checked at this point...

every hose, valve, etc. What else could be causing it to make that noise? It's sounded like this since the first time I drove it.

I might have a little exhaust leak between the test pipe and downpipe, but I don't know if that would be responsible for this.

New gaskets on the manifold side and the test pipe side...

Any ideas?
