biggest problem with my v6 is the ecm connectors located under the passenger mat and behind the plenum. the yellow connectors seem to be the biggest problem and effect engine coolant sensor(runs rich-rich) really bad on hot days and warm engine, camshaft position senser and throttle position sensor. recycle connectors and use contact cleaner. this location is really bad for moisture and condensation sinc a/c duct and discharge is close by.

audi are you listening?

good luck

Actually, you didn't know it, but your post was on the right trail.

After 8 months and 5000 miles of running without check engine/system too rich, it came on again. And then the real problem got itself exposed---a wiring issue on the line to the MAF! Although not visibly damaged in any way, simply moving the wire from left to right while the engine is running raises and lowers the MAF readings, resulting in a new trim beginning to be learned. It is so pronounced, you can even hear the tune of the engine change moving the wire.

It seems if I snap the wire into the slot above the airbox, the readings stay correct all the time. So, that turns out to be the real simple solution to a problem that haunted me for so long!
