Well having seen Q527's post today on spark plugs and such... Having been wanting to replace my 24000 mile old straight from factory plugs, I dropped by the local Kragen and picked up a set of NGK BKR6E-11 plugs as had been recommended in the past and also again today. Total price of plugs were $7.92 before tax. I also picked up a nice gap measuring tool that's a bit more accurate than the coin style ones. After I got off work and ate some dinner, i set put to install these puppies... luckily spark plugs are easy enough to do in the dark(very little lighting was available). Took the car out for a spin and this is what I noticed.
After letting the car warm up to the usual 150+ degree oil temp, I decided to open her up a bit. Immediately I noticed one fact that was pointed out by Jeff... the power delivery has definately smoother. I don't know if I would classify the car as having more power, but the car definately ran smoother. Sudden lifts of the accelerator during a WOT pass resulted in a smoother transition. Overall for $8.50 definately a good piece of maintenance to do.
