The 2.8 and the 1.8t both top out around 148mph, mostly due to gearing and a little to
aerodynamics. MASSIVE mods would have had to have been made to make the speed indicated there. I'm gonna call BS on that pic.

Here are the maximum speeds possible for both cars, based on gearing alone.
While it's physically feasible (for the tranny) that you exceeded 148mph, the wind resistance at 148mph becomes so great that it would require unusual circumstances. So, I'm curious.
