Okay, my A/C went out.. I brought it up and had the system recharged and still.. nothing.. found out that the compressor clutch is not engaging.. when you hit the ac buttom, the fan kicks on.. the engine revs higher..but the friggen clutch doesn't engage.. WTF?!?!?!?!
Anyone have an ideas WHY this is going on?? Any ideas on how to fix it?? It's like a friggen sauna driving this thing around!!!
Thanks all!!

You got it recharged but did you leak check it at the same time? You could have a tremendous leak that when it went it, it went right back out in minutes. The compressor won't kick on if there's no freon (assuming the high/low pressure siwtches are working). Speaking of which, I'd check is the high presser and low presser switches on the A/C system. Either or both could be bad and prevent the compressor from turning on.
The clutch could be fried as well, which usually means new A/C compressor depending on if the clutch was going bad and grinding down the face of the compressor. If it wasnt, you could probably replace just the clutch.

the system holds the pressure. Do you know where the high/low switch is located? also, how would you test it?
It was wierd, the system just quit working.. no griding sounds, nothing......

compressor, then it should engage and you'll get cold air. right now my analysis is leading to a faulty climate control unit.

when sitting in the drivers seat rotate your head 45 degrees to the left... look down at the door handle, there are several buttons. Push them to engage the emergancy A/C unit

As for the testing.. to determine if it's the compress or not, bypass it by doing what WYSIWYG suggested. From there you can rule out compressor.
That could mean one of the siwtches is bad, ro the climate control unit itself.
I'm not sure how to test the siwtches aside from replaceing them.
