If you do then you probably have some gas, make sure it's pure gas, not oil-mixed, put that in the car.
Otherwise, take other car to gas station fill up spare gas-tank and pour into A4.

i think the two steepest streets in san francisco are both 22 percent grades.
so, did the yellow light and beep happen prior to this, or is there more in the tank than that? curious since i live in san fran too.
geo

I'm having an odd problem with my 97 A4 Quattro.
I live in San Francisco. I parked facing down hill last night. The gas tank close to empty. The computer tells me I still have 10 miles worth of gas in the tank, but obviously, with the car parked down hill like that, the gas is not getting to whatever hose it needs to get to to make it from the tank to the engine. I can't start the car!
The hill is about 20-30 degrees. Anyone know enough about trigonometry and the gas tank to give me a guess how many gallons I need to have in there before fuel will make it to the engine?
There is someone parked in front of me, so I can't just let the car roll out of the parking space, or I would do exactly that...
Thanks!
Regards,
Keith

Thanks for the replies.
No lawnmower, as you suggested...
Does the A4 have any sort of cutoff valve? I heard that some fuel-injection cars have a shutoff switch that goes off to protect the fuel pump. If that's the case, the switch would need to be turned back on. Should I be looking for this?
Regards,
Keith
