So about a year ago headlights went out...i found tech article removed melted plastic at headlight buss and everything worked great for about a year.
Then about a week ago headlights, turn signals, wipers, heater blower went out. I replaced ignition switch and load reduction relay and got everything back but headlights.
High-beams work if you pull back on lever. I bought a new multi switch from stealership today and still NO LIGHTS!
The 30 terminal on the ignition switch was melted and the wire discolored so I butt spliced new wire and female terminal in ignition switch plug.
Anyone have any input? I don't have a wiring diagram to chase the headlight wire. Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Harry

Terminal 30 of the ignition switch was discolored the and melted? That's the main juice from the battery, so you must have had/have a major short. I can scan the headlight schematic for the '96 for you if that would help. Just PM me.

i believe the headlight problem is separate from your previous one with the ignition switch. I had the same problem with my headlights and i talked to a local mechanic and he said it was the headlight switch... so i ordered the part i think it retails at around $195 and replaced it and it solved my problem. Hope this helps
