or does it have to be recoded? thanks? if so does anyone know how to recode it.

Does not matter since the quattro is not controlled by anything.

iirc recoding is only needed to change trans.

Default Small difference (120 rpm) in idle specification...

at least for non-DBW 30-valve, FWD vs AWD. Might be worth doing, there could be other differences. Code control module, function 7, with VAG.

Third digit of 5 digit code:

0=FWD w/o ASR
1=FWD with ASR
2=AWD w/o ASR
3=AWD with ASR
