(i asked this in the brakes forum, but got no replys)
i've been driving for about 3 weeks with the worn brake pads indicator on my info display. i finally got some time to check them out: my front pads have like 1/8" left and the rears have 1/4" left. i plan to replace all 4 soon.
any reccomendations on specific pads? i'm currently running stock brakes, but i am looking for an upgrade in performance. i've heard pretty good stuff about the hawk hps. any pros/cons over the hawk ceramics?
my other concern is the sensor wires. ecstuning.com sells the hawk hps WITHOUT sensor wires. do i need to get ones with sensor wires? hell, i'll just ask it: what are sensor wires? also, are there any other parts that i need to replace the pads, other than a piston retractor tool? oh yeah i forgot to mention, this is my first time ever doing brakes!

1. Do NOT buy from ECS Tuning
2. Read the FAQ and search our extensive archive
3. Do your rotors while you're at it. It'll take a fraction more time and you will be much happier with the setup.
Go to PureMS' website, get stock plain rotors all the way around and get PBR ceramic pads all the way around. I have this setup and it is wonderful for street and spirited driving.

yeah hawk hps are a good choice from stock, less brake dust too =)
the piston is pretty hard to push back in, yeah make sure you use a tool, it has to be turned by holding the sides while pushing, itll take some patience and sweat but youll know if your doing it right
if you were planning on changing your rotors eventually must as well do it now since your down there already, same with brake fluid,
goodluck
