Default novice question, cam adjuster seals

I am replacing my vc gasket and everyone is telling me to replace the cam adjuster seals too, what are those? can someone send me a pic? maybe a link where i can get them? are they expensive? My previous problem was because ECS sent me the wrong part!! anyways, what do you guys clean out the vc with? mine is pretty damn dirty on a 2.8L

Default Cam adjuster or tensioner gasket set...

Somewhat more difficult than the valve cover gaskets but a common oil leak (in addition to the valve cover gaskets).

You need the cam tensioner tool to replace the gaskets.

Default

If you don't see a leak there then just do the valve cover gaskets.

Default I'd bet he doesn't know where "there" is.

They all leak. Change them.

Default No, but I can definitely tell you that you want to replace those

I did my valve cover gaskets and six months later my tensioner seals blew out and left me stranded.
