OBD II Codes interpretation reqd. MIL light illuminated on 1996 A4 2.8 V6, 1996
The MIL light illuminated on my A4 a couple of days ago whilst driving home from work.
This particular day the outside temperature was about 9 deg F. I had filled up with 93 octane gas from a Mobil station that morning, securing the gas cap properly. I did however remember questioning why the coolant temp gauge remained relatively low and attributed this to the extreme cold weather. I have accessed the codes by utilising the air con display method as posted on FAQ.
Does anyone have a translation of these numbers relative to the dec C number as I am curious to see what these numbers mean?
I will be taking the car in for its 60,000 mile service wihtin the next few days where the OBD should be reset anyway. I have replaced the aged NGK spark plugs with Bosch Plus 4's, suspecting a misfire, pick up was much better but engine seems to be running fine. I am reluctant to drive my car until I am assured that this may have been a sporadic trip of the OBD.

Not 100% sure, but....
I wonder if maybe you got some bad gas (oline that is) and due to lower than normal temps maybe some moisture in the tank/gas. If you don't hear any unusual noises or excessive pinging etc then you should be OK to drive it prior to your upcoming 60K service.
Regarding the 60K, could you post your experiences/costs after you get the service done? Mine will be coming up in a few months and want to know what to expect. I may do the timing belt and the clutch, but depends on finances and whther I can find a good independent shop to perform the work at a more competitive level. Thanks.

Re: Not 100% sure, but....
Thankyou for the response. I just took mine out and it seems to run fine. Could be related to exceesive moisture in the tank as I was fairly low on gas prioir to re-fueling.
I will share my dealer experiences and post them up. I hope my trust in dealers will be restored as I have had contentious experiences previously with VW. My local dealer wants to charge me 525 for a 60,000 mile service this seems a bit excessive compared to what work is actually performed. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
