Default Off Topic: Digital Audio Storage Question.

Sorry to post this here but I have searched everywhere to no avail and the people on this forum seem to be in the know on allot of topics.

Is anyone familiar with formatting a cd-rw with DirectCD and using compression to store files in mp3 format. I am trying to fit the most on one disk as possible but get fatal errors everytime I format the disk compressed and try to write to it. How do you guys archive your MP3's to CD?

Thanks allot Audi peeps. Oh and buy the way let it snow.. QUATTRO

Default MP3s already have been squeezed tighter than kokujin b*tt.

Just copy them to CDs. I don't think compression will save you any space.

Default just copy over as data files

MP3s are already a compressed format
CDrw's are cheap so why bother trying to compress more.

easy and best solution.

Default Here's what I do...

I have a sound card with an optical digital output (Guillemot maxisound fortissimo) I take my MP3's preview them and fiddle with the EQ levels to get then all to match, then burn them right to my Minidisks. It's completely digital and if it's a good quality MP3, it will be a good quality MD. Now I just have to get the Sony MDX-8500 with the red lighting to replace my now idle mdx-7900 wirth amber/green.
