Oil caution came on.....
My 97 a4 2.8 oil warning came on tonite. Never did before, I changed the oil a week ago and thought I put a lil extra in there. It was in the high a range. now this came on and I want to take some out. I don't even want to move it onto the ramps, in fear of F'ing the catalytic converter. Should I just jack it up with some stands and take some out or what??
thanks guys

Light = pressure, not level
I always thought that when the oil light came on, that meant that your oil pressure had gone out of spec. While this could be linked to the oil level (though not terribly likely, unless you have a massive leak), it is more likely linked with your oil pump. Even if your level is off by a quart or two, I don't think the light will come on.
I could be totally wrong about this, though. :-)

after reading an older post I see that....
its prolly just the cpu telling me its time to change the oil. As my oil is still above the "a" mark a lil bit do you guys think I should still take a lil out??
easiest way to do this if I should?
thanks

Can a harsh winter cause my low oil light to come on, with only 3700 mile since last oil change?....
