Default Oil change nightmare!!!!!!!!!!!...(kinda long)

So I went and bought my Mobil 1 and my oil filters, took it all to this shop in town to do the oil change. They did all the work and I thought everything was great after that. About a thousand or so miles later I started hearing this clicking noise from my engine. (I have a 2.8 30V) I was told that it could be that I'm low on oil. I thought that's wierd I just had an oil change. Checked the oil and turned out all that shows up on the dip stick was a little spot of black oil at the very tip. So did this shop just steal my oil and not even do an oil change or what???? I went right to the autoparts store and put in some new Mobil 1. Obliviously I won't be going back to that shop.

Default that or they didn't replace the crush washer and you're leaking oil...

or the guy was just a moron... or you could happen to coincidentally have a major malfunction with the car.

Default Get some rhino ramps and do it yourself...

on a 2.8 the filter and drain are on the driver side front. Drive up, drop the belly pan and it's all right there.

Default You could have an oil leak somewhere...

monitor the oil levels carefully over the next 1000 to rule that out. It's happened before...major leak, but the oil was burning up before it hit the ground and owners had no idea.

Default Do they actually eat the oil or leak it through every seal in the

engine?

A friend had a 2.8...his valve cover gasket was leaking pretty good...so I searched AW. Yikes!...not too uncommon.
