you know.. if you pay my gas to commute up to norcal .. i'll do that too.. still cheaper then 300$.. and I make my 20$
... Oil change really is simple. Especially on the 2.8L. I'm sure you'll find someone in norcal to help you out.

We have sealed TRE'S, Control arms, sways.. everything. Look under your car.. and see if you find one grease nipple. Unless you have aftermarket sways (I think H&R comes with a grease nipple for it's bushing) you don't grease anything. Oil change costs me... 32$ total. 6quarts oil.. one filter. It's gotten as high as 40$. But I bought some damn good oil. I do my own labour so that kind of explains the cheapness but... You got ripped off.. I would go to the dealer and ask what the extra lube bullsh!t is about.

On next oil change, just replace it. Finis. Without the crush washer, you may leak a small amount of oil from the drain plug, but it's nothing to really be concerned about. It will make a small mess on the belly pan which you can wash off with some Simple Green or other strong detergent and water.
If the prospect of a small leak bothers you, bring the car in for an "early oil change" and just do the above a lot sooner. I find it hard to believe that anything negative happened to the threads as a result of the washer being left out. If the threads are hosed, it's because the previous mechanic over-torqued the drain plug, not because of the missing washer.
Cheers,

the bolt get embedded into the washer area when being tightened. I would recommend doing it yourself, get a crush washer (copper) and get a new drain plug, either the one with the magnetic tip or the one with a spicot. Both have added benefits over the standard bolt/plug.

it's not because of the lack of washer. It's due to the incompetence of the person who tightened the bolt. I've watched a jiffy lube guy use an impact gun to replace an oil plug while I stopped in to pick up a customer's car they had broken.
Avoid these places like the plague.
