Oil consumption on the 1.8t

Is it normal to consume between 1 1/2 to 2 qts every 4 to 5 k miles?
I bet the dealer will tell me this is standard until the warranty runs out.
Maybe turbo seals? it only has 40K on the car.

I switched to Castrol Syntec 5W-50 and no consumption now. Maybe it's Mobil 1 vs Castrol Syntec, but I think it's the weight.
If you can, try a heavier oil at high temperature (the second number of the 5W-50).
Mine is a '98 1.8T.

I'm using 0w-40. It probably has to do with bringing on the boost before your oil has warmed up (oil is thinner when cold).
