If I go buy a oil filter at a VW dealer, is the oil filter part number D5A 115 561 B. This is for A4 1999.5 1.8TQM. Also just moved to fl from a north east state, which would be the best oil to use for the weather down here? TIA

VW dealers use the same filters as audi dealers... they have the same part numbers too... any vw dealer can get any audi part and audi dealers can get vw parts.

that and synthetic oil for the 04+ a4's.
the 1.8T and V6 have the same union and threading on the filter mount/oil cooler.
older v6's used the 06b filter which once was an o34 filter iirc.
the 068 increases the filter element size by maybe double... and oil capacity too... it also helps cool the oil better.
