Default Oil Pressure Light stay on... What would cause this???

I just changed out my dash cluster on my 96 A4 because my old one was missing a ton of lights and just about stopped working all together. Whe I put the new cluster in I noticed that everything now working including the dinging sounds... but when I hold it at about 2300 RPM the Oil Pressure Light goes on and stays on. I checked the oil level and it is only about 1/2 quart low.

What would cause this? How do I fix it?

Default if you have good oil pressure in the block, I'd say its a loose ground or electrical connection...

and considering you just changed the cluster, I'd put my $ that there is something loose or disconnected behind there.

Default All the electrical conectors behind the cluster are all plugged in tightly..

All the electrical conectors behind the cluster are all plugged in tightly.. nothing is loose. I also noticed that when taking out the old cluster that the Oil Pressure Light was removed from the cluster. Is there a Oil Pressure sending unit or a Pressure sensor somewhere on the car?

Default It's more than likely a bad sending unit, they are kind of a pain to change but inexpensive,

change em both save yourself the headache.

Default That's about where you pass 1.4 bar on the stock sender.

I'd replace the sender first (very easy) and/or check your pressure with a gauge. If everything's cool according to the gauge, the sender is busted.

I don't think the sender is very costly, IIRC.
