1998 a4 quattro 1.8t automatic 227752 miles

I've had a blinking oil light with 3 beeps for the past 2 weeks. no codes on the vag and I replaced the oil pressure sender cause I thought it may have a faulty sender. No luck so far, going to do an oil pressure test on monday. Is there anything else that could be causing the constant beep beside a messed up oil pump? I can get the oil pump cheap and would just have to pay for labor so if it came down to it I would do it. Before I make that decision I would like to know if anyone else has had this problem. I searched all over the forum but didn't really find any oil pump discussion. Could someone please shed some light on this for me? anything would be helpful.

Stop driving the car. Replace the oil pump. Pray to the Audi gods that the cam bearings aren't spun.
