I have a 2000 1.8T which is being serviced right now. I think i'm getting screwed on the labor.
Oil sludge clean up/new pump $1600
new timing belt $1000
Do you have to take off the timing belt to get to the oil pump?
Isn't costliest part of changing the timing belt getting to it in the first place?
Also they told me the oil sludge warranty extension didn't apply to my car. which upon rereading my letter from audi seems like it should.

First how bad is the oil sludge?
You can try Auto RX ($20 a bottle as I recall) for at least two treatments before laying down big greens at the dealer.
Also check out BG products and their services they do perform oil de sludging at a cheaper rate.

If you were refused repair of a Oil sludge problem under warranty extension please contact me at 708 301 4000 or emial me at jmirocha@comcast.net. I filed a law suit against AoA for not honoring the warranty extention because I changed the oil myself one time. We know they recommended the wrong oil at the wrong change interval and no weasle out of repairing when ever they can. I need as many people who have been denied to contact me. thanks Joseph Mirocha
