Default Oil temp higher than usual....

I noticed that my oil temp has been up to around 220-225 on normal driving, i am using 5w30 mobil1 and a mann oem filter. I just did timingbelt/water pump/termostat maintenance. any ideas what would cause this? Before i did all this maintenance, my car would run at 200 and only go above during hard driving conditions.

Default did you check the oil level?

also check the oil cooler lines, you were moving them around during the TB install.

Default may have some air in the system

I noticed the same thing after I did my TB last summer. Temps are now back to normal.

Default

That could be the problem, since the coolant temps will control the oil temps.

Default naughty boy

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/39785/bleed.jpg"></center><p>Loosen and raise the coolant expansion tank ~4 inches and then:
Loosen coolant hose on heater core and pull back hose sufficiently so that bleeder hole (arrow) is no longer sealed by connection.
- Top up coolant until it flows out of coolant hose bleeder hole.
- Push coolant hose on connection and tighten.
- Install coolant expansion tank cap.
