Default Oil on Timing Belt

I went to the technician and they told me that there is oil all over my timing belt. Does anybody know what is going on. Where the oil is coming from? Let me know. Thanks

Default Re: Oil on Timing Belt

Could be any one of the seals/gaskets on the front of the motor. You should fix it before the belt snaps, oil + t-belts don't mix well. You could snap off a few of the covers to investigate.

Default is this a 2.8 or 1.8?

on 2.8s is very common to get oil
in the tb from a leaky steering
pump
