I have a 99 A4Q 5V with 17K. I just bought it and am amazed at the amount of oil it drinks. I just changed the oil and 600 miles later it is down 1/2 to 3/4 of a quart. It doesn't burn it and I don't see any leaks. I had the car inspected by an Audi mechanic before I bought it. Any suggestions?

I have a 96 2.8 a4 manual quattro with 94k on it
I have been adding about one quart of oil for every 2000 miles I have had the car in my family for the entire life of the car It has always been like this no oil leaking anywhere to speak of I have also had 2 vw jettas 4cylinder in my life and they were the same way I hoped that now i had a a4 it would not leak... but to no avail no one seems to think any real thing about it from the dealor who i had check it out to mybuddy that helps me work on it.. I hate to buy more oil than needed but i know if you take your car to jiffy lube which i do not do that they will fill up your fluids if you use them regurlrly for free if they are low..just an idea...

Go to search and type in "excessive usage oil". There is some help but not much.
