Default ok car has no power and almost caught on fire lol what could it be?

got a friends car to work on. and after giving it a boost to start it idles not bad. so I took it for a drive omg no power will not rev up even of I have my foot on the ground. the tranny shifts all ****ed up. its auto with tiptronic
fuel gauges goes from half a tank to empty
then when i get back home after the 3min drive the engine bay has smoke.. I pop the hood and the driver side exhaust mainfold area has a small flame.. so I put that out fast no biggy but then it got me thinking maybe the cat on that side is clogged

2.8 think 00-01 year

insp light and abs and ever light is on lol
btw where is the obd port on it?

OBDII port is right under the dash. Left side. Very easy to get to.

Default If its not there, it *could* also be in the rear ashtray. Backside bottom of center console.

open the ashtray and there will be a cover with an engine symbol on it. Pop that cover off, and see if the OBDII connetor is in the hole. If not, you need to get a flashlight and take a better look at the bottom side of the knee bolster on the drivers side. Like under the steering wheel and above your feet.....towards the door.

Or more likely, it got pushed out of it's holder and he'll have to drop the knee bolster to find it.
