Default OK... Coolant Light Came On...

I just started up the car to go to my friends house and about 30 seconds while it was warming up, the coolant light came on. I popped the hood and noticed just about NO coolant, WAY BELOW the min mark... I have been having a lot of trouble lately with the temperature and coolant leakage, but never this much... I'm guessing waterpump since it has never been done and I am really due with 71k on the car... Please Help

This link is the original post when I asked about coolant temps... PLEASE Help I would greatly appreciate.

https://forums.audiworld.com/a4/msgs/2136779.phtml</a

Default I have read posts about this and it seems that....

the coolant tanks on our cars suck but fortunately are pretty cheap and easy to replace. I would try that. If it is just the tank than you got nothing to worry about.

Default Check around the coolant expansion tank, around the oil filter, and anywhere

else under the engine. See if you can pinpoint where the coolant is coming from. I would bet if you're losing a lot of coolant in a short period of time, it's a hose or the expansion tank. That wouldn't explain the temp variations...unless you've consistently been running the car low on coolant.

Default Re: Alright I will,But haven't seen any leaks on the ground but I have seen coolant residue near...

The waterpump which is why I suspect it... Plus my car when I start it up makes a like a wierd gurgle noise like it was burping, which helps me to believe water pump... Thankyou for your help and input, I will check...
