OK guys, I admit--I broke down and bought the whole PES G2 kit today...

Guy actually had two of them (!!) and needed one for in case he jacked the other one during mods. He runs water injection, a few other things. We're brainstorming on design of a temp plate to go between the charger and manifold. I know it can be done----but might need a bump in the hood.

at some point there's goign to be no getting around it. Of course, same can be stated about the 1.8T, too, my man. A 1.8T that was originally rated at what, 180hp, cannot be reasonably expected to handle 350 or 370 hp for long, if at all, with stock internals. At SOME point, there is goign to be catastrophic failure--that's not even a 'maybe' kinda' deal--it is a foregone conclusion--and the laws of physical dynamics tell us that the weakest link in the equation will fail first, and that is usually the rods.

I am sure it would sell. The increase in potential hp would be significant and well worth it, within reason of course. I still say a temp plate is the way to go, though.

although his car wasn't 100% (see link), I don't agree. look at the numbers and area under the curves for a stage 3 1.8T for the same money. both cars should have an exhaust and clutch.

You seem to be overlooking this fact...
Good luck with the project, it should be quite interesting to watch. Not to be a nay-sayer, but you may want to look into doing a G1 style charger setup if you're really reaching for a reliable-(er) 400 hp.

I'd give some consideration to sourcing a 2.7T block with four bolt mains. Just for good measure.
