Default Completely recoverable, with the Bentley!

You might want to make sure that you have the cams set properly and the book has info on this. See if an experienced Audiworlder can offer some expertise to make sure all the i's are dotted, etc. I would offer, but I'm not experienced enough. I know its recoverable because I have been researching a 2.8 broken tb situation myself...

Default The key is the crankshaft.. he needs to get the crank to TDC first..

I'd be leery of just turning the crank over with the cams not following along..

Default 1. Where are you?

2. Take the tensioner off, compress it slowly, put it back on and reinstall belt.

3. Rotate engine to TDC. Verify by taking number 3 spark plug out and use a long 1/4 drive extension to make suer you are really at TDC ( V6 guys help out here, TDC on the 2.7 is number 3, but I am not 100% certain this applies to 2.8 )

4. Continue job. You can do it. E-mail me your phone number if you want a hand holding phone call.

You should not have loosened ANY pulleys till you got it to TDC.

Default thanks.. I just did finished #2. and tried to turn crank...

but at some point it's not rotating. is it normal? do i have to keep turing it with super strong strength? I feel like something's gonna be broken when I pushed the long wrench.

as you see the picture tdc is way off and cam shafts looks odd!!!!

Default Try to rotate whichever camshaft moved after you took the belt off, back to where it was...

line it up so the little triangle thing is basically opposite the one that didn't move. Then, compress and reinstall teh tensioner. Then, put the belt, and the tensioner and stuff back on. Then, turn the thing to TDC. Then start over removing the belt and stuff.
