Default ok i've decided to gap my denso iridiums at 0.032 anybody think I shouldn't ??

if so please tell me why?? I got the factory spec IK20's....they come gapped at 0.040 since I am chipped with exhaust, BOV, Intake, ETC.....i'm assuming around 200~215 HP roughly 0.032 should be a good gap size? any opinions? Thanks..... dam these littel sucker got thin litte spark conductors...hope they don't break when i try to narror the gap....

Default for the IK20s, i have no probs with my stage2 with 0.040in gap.

ask jcjiffy, he's had them all set at different gaps. he settled on 0.032 but he had problems at 0.040

Default but isn't stock audi settings? 0.8 to 1.0 which is equivalent to 0.031 to 0.037??

i just figured since that is stock figures of the 1.8t engine with 150HP and with my chip and exhaust etc..boosting it to over 200HP the lower of the stock setting guideline by audi would be better...honestly i don't know how much this gapping thing matters....its kind of confusing....

Default ideally if we could all have our ways is to have bigger gaps...

this allows the spark to be bigger and not be obstructed by metal. but too big of a gap and you risk knocking since the spark doesn't happen. .04 is the recommended gap for our engines with denso iridiums. smaller is fine but you lose the advantages of the smaller electrode found with iridium plugs.
