Default OK, just for you people that wanted to know what the APR stage 3 kit really makes on a dyno.

Here is a dnyo chart that was just sent to me today. It puts a GIAC street chip and a APR stage 3 kit on one chart with hp and torque readings. Just so you guys dont have any problem reading it, the TEST run car is the GIAC street chipped car with exhaust and the BASE run is the APR stage 3 kit also with an exhaust.

Colors on the dyno chart is as follows
Dark Blue GIAC Chip HP
Green GIAC torque
Teal blue APR stage 3 kit HP
Burgandy APR stage 3 kit torque

The chart shows all power at the wheels but here is the power at the crank.
GIAC chip------197 hp and 249 torque, just about what GIAC claims
Stage 3 kit-----233 hp and 208 torque, NOT even close to the APR claim of 280 hp and 300 tq.

So the question is, "Is the Stage 3 kit worth $4K"

Default I've heard this same info from other shops, too.

I was talking to my favorite shop guys a month or so back, and they had just done their 2nd APR Stage 3 install. The owner of the shop said he was very disappointed in both. They didn't have a 4-wheel dyno, so they couldn't test it, but he said it didn't feel very impressive after driving it around for a bit.

I'm not saying I agree or disagree. That's just the type of info I've heard from a couple shops. Seems to agree with the dyno plot you've got up there. Where did you get these dyno runs done?

Default Just the APR chip and exhaust (Stage 2) gets you around 230 bhp. (more)

Come-on man, those numbers are dirty. To many people have APR and stand by it's numbers for them to be wrong. How the hell did you put on a APR Stage 3 right after testing a GIAC chip anyway? You story doesn't make any sense. How can you test a GIAC chip, and then quickly take it off and put on a full Stage 3 setup and text that? It is not a quick install. Please explain!

Default Dyno test is suppose to test power to the wheels. How can a GIAC chip make 197hp to the wheels?

The APR numbers looks more like power to the wheels, seems reasonable. Has APR come out with their own dyno result yet? If yes, what are theie number?

The test was done at an independent shop in Seattle with two separate cars.

Default this data was originally posted MONTHS ago

It's too bad you can misinform so many with bogus information and they'll actually believe it. I know for FACT it puts out a ton more HP than your "chart" shows. I'll also be happy to prove you wrong again when my car gets dyno'd soon. And just for added fun we'll do a second chart on the 100 octane program.
You've really crossed a line here, but that's OK. I expect no less from you. It only makes it more worthwhile to prove you wrong.

https://forums.audiworld.com/performance/msgs/31575.phtml</a
