Default my buddy's is just fine, even with the stock tires. the stability control helps.
certainly it's not awd, but the thing handles.

then again it was a girl and she road through an intersection...lol

with proper winter tires it'll be as good as most other 2WD cars out there.

Wife loves hers in the snow (Maine) went from a Jeep to the Mini and still loves it.

Default they are great, if you have a winter beater...
that according to my brother who stores the S in the winter and drives a 80Q.
