it is compressed. When I hit a bump I hear a sound similar to if I jumped on my bed. Really quick squeak. When I turn, if the road is smooth I don't hear anything. Even if I'm turning hard. But if I hit a bump mid turn, I hear that same bed springs squeak. Is this normal? Is it the new shocks and springs "breaking in"? I hope it goes away. It's annoying. Any suggestions?

Default Yes, more than likely the control arms...

Happens a lot on A4's. Something about the material they use for the control-arm bushings I think. I had this problem last year and had the right control arm replaced. Recently happened again on the left side of my car. If you can get the dealer to replace them both under warranty, good for you. They would only change one for me. Now that my car is no longer under warranty, i'm gonna have to pay to have it done. Hate getting into my car and having the "cheap motel bed creak" sound coming from my car. Cest la vie...

Default I suspected lower control arm bushings, but there was never a squeak before my suspension swap.

It started right after my new Bilstein shocks and Neuspeed springs went in. I would think there would have been SOME indication before.

Happened to me right after my Eibachs were installed.

Default I thought the control arms problems are up front. My squeak is coming from the back of the car.

I guess it can happen all around?

Default I think Neuspeed springs on A4's are famous for having "coil-bind" which is probably....

...what's causing your squeak.

Never heard of "coil-bind" before. What's that?

Default I think you'd define it as........

....two or more coils in the spring coming into direct contact wiht each other and rubbing, which can cause a squeaking sound.

I know I've read posts from people with the Neuspeed springs that have experienced this problem, always in the rear. Someone mentioned installing some sort of plastic sleeves on the coils to minimize the noise.
