Default Ok, time for a n00b question: What is needed to get a fully functional 'Concert' head unit working

in my '97, which is the old school detla unit. Mine is showing age, the vol. **** is fuxord and some buttons are a tad bit sticky at times so hopefully i can find a Concert unit in better working condition.

Main reason I want the concert is so I have some options for an iPod connetion. So now I'm curious what I will need to do for wiring...

Will I need a wiring harness to get it all working correctly or just splice and switch around a few wires?

Oh and if anybody has the P/N on the concert unit would be a nice addition too : )

Default Here's some pics comparing the two...looks like it should be plug-n-play

They both use standard Blaupunkt connectors.

Default i just put a symphony into a car with a delta...

the only thing that doesnt work is backlight on buttons not in use. I'm guessing the concert will pretty much be plug and play with the exception of cd changer wiring maybe

Default You need to splice in a K-line so you can program it, I live in Redmond , e-mail me if you need info

I upgraded to a Concert and Blitzsafe iPod I/F in my 96 A4.

Default That only works if you manage to buy a Concert that is programmed for your car.

If you need to switch the bose/ non Bose setup you need a K-line and a VAG.com
