started car last night to notice a fairly rough idle and a blinking check engine light. I then immediatly turned off my car, and went to bed. Started the car this morning and the same thing happens.... blinking CEL and a rough idle. I don't have local access to a VAG com, so Im not exactly sure what the prob. is
the forum archives tell me this could mean a number of things.. ignition module, coilpacks, plugs... am I missing anything?
I have a shop thats maybe a mile away from my house. Is it safe to drive that far?
TIA

(Ignition Module).
The coil packs on the AEB engines are pretty solid but it isn't unheard of for one to fail. I would hope the engine transplant folks popped new plugs in the engine so a bad plug is unlikely .. also not unheard of tho ..
Since the car is just 3 weeks past a new engine transplant, I'd be inclined to suspect a connection having come loose. Take a look at the POS (on top of airbox with connectors on both sides) and ensure both connectors are well seated. I'd also double check the MAF connection and the conditions of the wires leading to the sensor itself. The MAF sensor connection is in the airbox below the large diameter rubber grommet. Be careful of those wires as tehy are delicate.
Lastly, I would suggest coocoomike had the right idea .... Involve the shop that did the transplant.
