In this link, it appears that the descriptions of each line in the picture are reversed. Since this is of an A6, I want to make sure my guess is right for my A4. The smaller line to the resevoir is the return, right? I traced the larger line going to the pump and I thought "why would the pump return the fluid directly?"

Now the question I hope isn't stupid. Is there a filter on A4s like in this article? the ground for this? Is it really necessary to flush the rack, or is it just a small amount of fluid that will get blended with the new fluid the next time you go lock to lock?
