Default One touch up rear window mod tech article removed?

After searching a bit, it seems pretty easy to do. But a link to tech article describing the door panel removal seems gone.

Anyone know where I can find it?

Default i can't seem to find it either, but it's easy to do

i did the one-touch mod a long time ago.. here's what i remember. iirc there are four screws holding the door panel on. one in/near the handle, and i guess the other three are on the sides. after you take those out, lift up and out gently on the door panel and it should then be freed from its clips. careful not to lift too far because things are still plugged in back there. unplug everything so you can place the panel somewhere and it's not hanging on the wires. find the window motor, unplug and take it out, and follow the figure-8 copper wire method shown here.

<a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/a4/msgs/1271980.phtml">tech article</a>

then install in reverse order. put window motor back, plug it in, place the door panel above the door and slide down into place, then install the four screws.

keep in mind all this is from memory, so just be careful. if the door panel's not coming out, maybe you missed a screw. i'm not responsible for anything that might happen, just trying to help you out since i can't find the tech article either. good luck.

Default Screws

There are 3 around the outside of the doors, 1 near the back of the handle, and 1 beneath the handle cover. You need to pull it down and out to uncover screw. Let me know if you need anymore help. I did this mod 2 weeks ago.

Thanks all. Silly safety features... Now if only the rear window could go ALL the way down.....

Default That is not a safety feature.

Lok at your rear door. No place for the glass to go, wheelwell is in the way.

That's the common and wrong assumption.
