I have had an ongoing clicking noise in the front of my car (feels like it is right behind the dead pedal) that I am not able to pinpoint. It happens in low gear when I let off the gas after accelaration. It is like a click noise, similar so something clicking out of place then back in to place. This leads me to beleive it is one of the mounts, but short of replacing all the engine and tranny mounts is there anyway to be sure? I put the car up on jacks and tried to shake the heck out of the mounts but I was not able to duplicate the noise. Any ideas?
TIA

But I am not sure of anything at this point... Is there a way to tell? If it was the CV joint wouldn't it do it mostly on turns? This only happens when I let off or quickly hit the accel in low gears. And it is two clicks, sounds like it is clicking out of place then back in to place.
