Default Opinions on AVS ES100 in 225-50-16's vs. 205-55-16's (more)

I have searched plenty and found a great deal of positive info on the ES100's. Also they seem to be a good deal for the performance. My debate is mainly with the size. I know many people run the 225-50-16's without problems. However...
Are they significantly better handling than 205-55-16's?
Are there noise differences between the sizes?
Fuel economy changes?

Thanks for any advice.

Default Based on the TR reviews they sound like an excellent tire for the price...

I'm tempted to try the Yoko when I replace my S03s. The S03 is an absolutely incredible tire performance-wise but they've been very noisy the past 4,000 miles. The Yoko ES100 seems to perform ALMOST as good as the S03...being over $200 cheaper for a set of 4 just about clinches it for me.

Default Just got a set of 205/55-16s, great tire, but wish I had gotten the 225s

They have awesome wet traction and well I have not yet broken them in the dry, well not w/o trying very-very hard

Great choice all around I'd say

Default I'm going to get those also...

AVS ES100 is such a good buy. From the Tire Rack review, it seems they are very good tires to invest in. I'll be getting those tires along with 18s this month.

Default I got those tires. great handling, excellent in rain, but....

they are loud.

At least compared to my RE040's I had before. They sound "trucky".

That said, I would buy them again.

Default Deffinately go with the 225-50-16's. I have them on my Avant and

they are great. Excellent wet/dry traction. I don't think they are that loud, others may disagree.

Default Re: Based on the TR reviews they sound like an excellent tire for the price...

I just spoke with someone at TR. He said that the 225/50R16 sized tires will rub if I'm using them on 45mm offset rims. Which rims are you guys using these on? I just bought the Audi 16" Tango 6 spoke rims (16x7) and I'm shopping around for tires. Thanks, DJT
