Anyone have any opinions or preferences on Bay Area dealers? I think I want to get an Avant 2.8, but it doesn't look like I'll ever find one to test drive. The Burlingame dealer said they are all pretty much sold before they arrive. Suspect that is true of all dealers in area. I was able to test drive an A4 2.8 with Tip., but they also had no manual A4's (I want a stick). Can anyone tell me how the Avant feels, compared to the A4 sedan?

I bought mine at the dealer on Steven's Creek Blvd on San Jose (near Winchester). They don't have any sticks their stock though. If you do go there, ask for Rob Eglsaer. He's been selling audi's for about 30 years and he's very easy to deal with. All of the other salesmen I've delt with there have been absolute scum.

Numerous of us have bought from Ernst. I just got my S4 from him....so did Sharon Levy...as did Grant Erickson. You owe it to yourself to talk to Ernst before deciding
on any dealership. About 40 A4/S4/TT owners in Norcal that frequent these forums
bought from Ernst. He is a multiple A4 owner himself..and has been selling Audi's for
years.

There is an audi dealership in livermore--I know its far, but damn I like them. I can't believe it but I'm blanking on the name, they also sell Honda and Subaru. There are only 2 guys there, one older one younger (Mark??) Anyway, 3 weeks ago I ordered a 1.8 Avant w/Man. And while I was there I saw a couple of 2.8 Avants on the lot. These guys gave me a great deal and I think that they had the only cars in town. I shopped everywhere. Check Audi of America website under dealer locator.

Bought my 98.5 A4 1.8T from Mark Fleming at Livermore Honda/Subaru/Audi. Can't say too much since I already knew what I wanted going in. For me it was straightforward. It's very casual there without any piranha-esque attack methods by the sales force. Also great roads for test drives in the area.
