keep in mind that if you get rear ended you may be considered at fault.
tinting tailights is not legal (DOT approved), and such someone who rear ends you could easily claim they could not see your tailights.
IMO 98-99.5 tailights seem slightly tinted compared to the other newer or older tails, but certainly don't have the blacked out look you may be going for.
