Don't buy a Burton they are overrated and overpriced.
Just because they were first doesn't mean they're the best. You wouldn't buy a Ford would you?

BTW I agree with surfdamountains- Burtons are ok but overpriced...
Girlfriend rides a Salomon and loves it... we both have boot binding combo which is great..
I have RIDE TIMELESS... I think Rides are outstanding... Demoed a Salomon and my legs fatigued... on my RIDE there is no vibration damping...
HEY, ENOUGH WITH THE SNOWBOARDS THIS IS AN AUDI SITE... EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT FOR GETTING TO THE MOUNTAIN IN STYLE, AUDI IS THE CHOICE!

No wife is cheap....and you should complete the break-in process yourself if possible.
Of course, there is some advantage to getting a higher-mileage model, including a reduced warm-up time and increased response to a light touch on the throttle.

I'm sorry, but nothing beats a burton custom IMO
I've ridden:
3 diff K2
20 diff NeverSummer
2 diff Joyrides
1 ride
2 Atlantis
1 Rossi
1 M3
and probably 20 or so diff burtons. Salomon is one I have never, but I have heard a lot of good things about them and the one kid I knew that got flow from them broke his back sooo... I've never been able to pick one up. Burtons are like a fine delicacy...I broke 5 in one year, but I swear I've never ridden a smoother board. Compared to Never Summer, which are built like tanks (tried to break one but couldn't), but turn and ride like ****.

Exactly the opposite of what I have heard from sponsored riders
Off the record, they all say that pretty much every not-a-piece-of-****-board is basically equal, and the only reason they say Board X is better is because it's their job.
